Trenchless Sewer Repair in San Francisco, CA

About Pipe Lining Repair

A modern type of sewer line repair is pipe lining.  This technique is a trenchless type of repair that essentially creates a new pipe inside of an existing pipe.  The damaged line is repaired through access points. Access points can be sewer cleanouts, vent stacks, or toilet flanges.  These access points make it possible to make a repair without digging up your property.

You may also hear pipe lining being referred to as a process called Cured-In-Place Pipe or CIPP (pronounced "sip").  To provide more detail about the process, the lining is flexible and is saturated with a special resin.   The lining is inserted into the original, damaged pipe, and is then cured using heat to form a solid inner pipe.

The lining acts as the new pipe.  It corrects cracks from root intrusion, corrosion, and ensures the pipe no longer leaks.  CIPP is a great way to restore your pipes without a complete replacement and without disruption to your property.

CIPP vs. Traditional Repair

Pipe Lining (CIPP) and a traditional sewer line repair both set out to accomplish the same goal - to provide the customer with a solution to their leaking or clogged pipes.  What sets the two techniques apart is the preparation required to begin the repair and the restoration work that is required after the job is completed.

Traditional Repair:

To gain access to a damaged pipe, traditional sewer line repair usually requires digging a trench.  Digging the trench may involve digging up expensive landscaping, well-cared for lawns, and even driveways and sidewalks.  The excavation prepartion could take several days to complete.  Then the repair itself another day or two.   The restoration work that involves repair or driveways and yards could take weeks to months to complete.  The cost of the restoration process can also be very expensive - possibly more expensive than the pipe repair.

CIPP Repair:

To gain access to a damaged pipe, CIPP is much simpler.  There is little to no preparation required because the damanged pipe can be reached through existing access points on the property.  This also means, there is little to no restoration required because a trench was not dug to complete the work.  With pipe lining, the liner is inserted through the access points, it is cured in place, inspected, and the repair work is completed.  This method is cost-effective, reliable, and avoids a major mess to clean up.  Trenchless is the modern solution that homeowner's choose when in need of a repair.

Benefits of Pipe Lining

************

  • No dig solution that keeps your property looking great
  • Requires less time to complete than traditional solutions
  • Effective solution that last decades
  • Costs less than traditional repairs
  • Prevents future leaks and cracks
  • Adds strength and reinforcement of the original pipe

Camera Inspection

A small camera is inserted into the pipe to evaluate the damage and to confirm that pipe lining is the best solution.

Cleaning and Preparation

Before lining the pipe, it must be cleaned thoroughly, removing all debris and build-up from the inside of the pipe.

Insertion of Liner

Using special pipe lining equipment, a resin-coated liner is inserted and pulled inside the existing pipe.

Begin Curing Process

The resin-coated liner is inflated and cured in place using heat.  The heat begins the hardening process, making it into a solid pipe that exists inside the original pipe.

Final Inspection

A final camera inspection is performed to confirm that the pipe lining seamlessly covered all the cracks, corrosion, and strengthened weak points in the sewer pipe.

Choose Pipe Lining

Our pipe lining service is the perfect solution to fix your damaged pipes.  The entire pipe does not need to be replaced when it is still structurally sound.  Let's repair your pipe using a trenchless pipe lining technique when you have the following issues:

  • Corrosion and deterioration of old pipes.
  • Cracks that may be caused by old pipes, movement of soil, or intrusion of tree roots.
  • Blockages caused by tree roots that broke through the pipes.
  • Shifting pipes may result in misaligned connections and can impact the flow of water and waste.
  • Compromised joints and seals can cause leaks from pipe deterioration over time.

If you have any of these problems, pipe lining is the recommended solution.  A camera inspection will be able to determine the extent of damage and will confirm if pipe lining is the best solution for you.
